Quantitative Research
National Analysts offers comprehensive global quantitative research
services including project design and management, sampling, questionnaire
development, data collection, and data analysis/interpretation.
Project Design & Management
Experienced senior project managers are closely involved in all
phases of research, from design through analysis to provide counsel
and guide implementation. Supporting them is a staff of bright,
well-trained project staff whose capabilities often qualify them
as "senior"-level personnel in other settings.
Problem Definition
Successful assignments always begin with effective problem definition.
Helping clients conceptualize marketing issues and translate business
problems into practical research questions are what National Analysts
professionals do exceptionally well. Thanks, in part, to unusual
research proficiency and versatility, we can approach each assignment
with a fresh eye and a willingness to move beyond established ways
of thinking. Clients who work with us appreciate our ability to
craft non-standard approaches in response to non-standard problems.
Sampling
The accuracy and credibility of research ultimately depend in large
part on a rigorous well-conceived sample design at the front end
and proper weighting procedures applied at the back. The presence
of the experienced sampling experts on our staff gives us the flexibility
to design and execute exacting sampling plans. Consistent with a
sampling-sensitive tradition that includes the "invention"
of probability sampling 70 years ago, we continue to develop sampling
procedures that improve the accuracy, credibility, and ultimate
utility of the data we collect. Recent contributions to the field
include refinement of a technique called "raking," a process
designed to improve the accuracy of complex data projections to
a sampled population.
Questionnaire Development
National Analysts approaches the fine art of questionnaire design
with a sensitivity to the challenges of measurement and a thorough
appreciation for all the various metrics that can be used to capture
attitudes and behaviors. Members of our staff are frequently invited
to lecture on survey design and questionnaire construction at industry
forums; our craft and creativity make us a firm of choice for assignments
that require novel design approaches; and our reputation for methodological
experience prompts many clients to call on us for high stakes studies
that will be introduced as evidence in courts and regulatory hearings.
Data Collection in the US and Abroad
The breadth of what we do requires use of every data collection
technique including in-person interviews, mail or fax, telephone,
electronic (web, disk, CD) and any combination. Because we do not
own a phone center, we are not wedded to one approach nor are be
constrained by the availability of our own facility resources. We
are able to select the most appropriate method; outsource data collection
to the highest-quality facilities and interviewers; and, where necessary,
deploy more than one facility at the same time.
National Analysts was an early practitioner of electronic data
collection with over a decade of experience behind us. To achieve
the flexibility and dexterity our surveys require, we have developed
our own interactive survey software called NA-Quest®
and generally host our own Internet surveys to ensure quality control.
Through a network of affiliated and collaborative organizations,
we are able to collect data on every continent, choosing subcontractors
based on regional presence and industry experience as well as quality.
Data Analysis
National Analysts is also prepared to incorporate secondary and
customer databases when necessary to support customer segmentation
and econometric modeling. The types of database services we provide
include merging, matching, and fusion of client and secondary proprietary
databases, as well as database scoring. We have become very adept
at anticipating and resolving a host of common - and not so common
- problems, to produce clean, accurate and well-documented databases.
In fact, our clients often find that it is more efficient and cost-effective
to have National Analysts create or update their marketing information
databases than to rely on their own internal systems groups.
